The TPH doesn't leave railroad tracks like the PPK, at least in my experience. I've owned several and still have the .22 in stainless. The TPH's sold in the plastic boxes with an extra mag are more reliable than the first runs in the cardboard box. The grip panels are susceptible to cracking if overtightened.

I initially liked the TPH and used only Stingers in it for CC. Testing and research online showed the Stingers to be the best carry ammo. The 2 1/2" barrel does NOT allow enough velocity for ANY LR to upset or mushroom, but does still get about 1000 fps and penetrate well with the Stingers.

The sights on the TPH are mounted on the slide. The rear sight can be drifted right or left, but the front sight is part of the slide. Neither is mounted on the barrel. The barrel is mounted to the frame - held in by a cross pin that locks it rigidly in place. The barrel appears to be mounted at a slight angle.

Although they are not currently made look for an Iver Johnson TP22. If you check Guns America or Gunbroker they occaisionally come up there for about $200-$250 in great condition. They are clones of the Walthers. I have had one for about 30 years and it has been reliable with the right ammo.
